Descriptor: We first see a graphic map, which zooms in to show the location of Alloa, together with a white caption, which reads, "Bob and Anne Westland Lottery Winners - £3.8m." We then we pan across the Scottish countryside, before seeing Bob and Anne Westland walking through a stone archway.
Narrator: The beautiful Scottish countryside, home to Bob and Anne Westland who, in July 1995, won over £3.5 million on The National Lottery, resulting in them being amongst Scotland's biggest winners.
Descriptor: We now see a photo of Bob pointing a pen at a National Lottery slip, before meeting him, sitting on a white sofa.
Bob Westland: I went through to the kitchen, I said to Anne, "I've got six numbers." She said, "What do you mean you've got six numbers?" I said, "I've got six numbers on the lottery." She says, "Don't be daft."
Descriptor: We now see a photo of Bob and Anne with their winning lottery ticket.
Narrator: Their big win soon gave them the opportunity to do something they'd always dreamed of.
Descriptor: We now see Anne and Bob sitting together on a sofa. As Anne speaks, we see her and Bob walking in the grounds of their hotel. We then see various exterior shots of the hotel that Anne and Bob bought.
Anne Westland: We like the West Coast of Scotland and I used to think it'd be lovely to have a hotel up there. And I was out having lunch with two of my ex-colleagues and they said, "Well is the Dunmar not still for sale?" This was a local hotel that we used to go to quite often for special occasions. So I found out about it, it was for sale and we eventually bought it.
Descriptor: We now see a close up shot of Bob.
Bob Westland: We've always lived our life on impulse. If we get something we just go for it.
Descriptor: We now see Bob and Anne walking in the front door of their hotel.
Narrator: Thanks to their win, Anne and Bob were able to close the hotel for a year and renovate the grade II listed building throughout.
Descriptor: We now see Anne and Bob sitting in one of the hotel's bedrooms, on a four poster bed. As she speaks, we see various photos of the hotel as it was being renovated, before various shots of the rooms now that the renovation has been completed.
Anne Westland: While we were doing the hotel up we stayed here, it wasn't quite like this though when we stayed. We were living in a bombsite really ‘cause we were knocking down walls, we were having heating put in. The whole place, all the floors were up, you had to be really careful when you went anywhere but it's all turned out exactly the way we want it.
Descriptor: We now see Bob and Anne standing with their sons Robert and Christopher.
Narrator: Since their win on The National Lottery the Dunmar has grown into a family business with Bob and Anne's sons Robert and Christopher taking roles in running the hotel.
Descriptor: We now meet Robert Westland, Bob and Anne's son and the Hotel Director.
Robert Westland: At the start it was more something fun but not it's more structured and Chris and I do 50/50 each. I do all the hard working, he does all the easy work.
Descriptor: We now see various shots of Christopher, Bob and Anne's other son and also a Hotel Director, in the restaurant's kitchen.
Christopher Westland: It's quite nice working for our parents, I get on really well with them. It probably has brought us a lot closer as a family. We don't seem to get on everybody's nerves as much as probably what we used to do.
Descriptor: We now see Robert in the restaurant, watching Kenny Wilson, the Hotel Manager, laying glasses on a table. We then meet Kenny, who is standing on the hotel staircase. As he speaks, we see a wide shot of Bob, Anne, Robert and Christopher standing in the hotel's reception, together with close up shots of a diary.
Kenny Wilson: They're a great family and I think that's the strength of the hotel, that is a family ran hotel. Bobby's seventy now and he's very much not just a father to Chris and to Robert but he's almost like sort of a father, sort of granddad figure within the hotel you know. You know he's interested in what you're doing and how things are and we see Anne as well everybody. When she's out walking the dog, comes in. You know it is one big family.
Descriptor: We now see photos of both Robert and Christopher's weddings at the hotel, before moving on to shots inside the restaurant, where we see Tom serving food to tables.
Narrator: The family celebrate all their special occasions at the hotel. Both Robert and Christopher held their wedding receptions there. And recently the next generation of Westland's became involved in the family business.
Tom Westland: [INAUDIBLE] Sir?
Narrator: Bob and Anne's grandson Tom works in the restaurant at weekends.
Descriptor: We now meet Tom Westland, Bob and Anne's grandson. As he speaks, we see various shots of him working in the restaurant.
Tom Westland: When they first asked me I was a bit scared to be honest, I didn't know what to expect. Probably is a bit different working for your family ‘cause you're a lot closer so you know you might get told off a bit more severely or you might be praised a bit more and it puts quite a bit of responsibility on me as well, to make the right decision.
Descriptor: We now focus in on a cake, which says, "Happy 90th Birthday," before we see various shots of Anne Westland and the other family members in the hotel's bar.
Anne Westland: It's good when you start something, build it up and it's still doing well. I think it's given the family security.
Descriptor: We now see Bob and Anne in the hotel's grounds playing with their dog.
Bob Westland: We've played the lottery from day one but I always had the feeling, as everybody does, it could be my week this week.
Descriptor: Finally, we see a close up shot of Anne sitting on a sofa. As she speaks, the camera pans across the hotels for a last time.
Anne Westland: I always wanted to win the lottery. But I might not quite have done with it what I thought it would.
Descriptor: Finally, we see a green screen with a white caption which reads, "WINNERS".
