Narrator: In 2004 regular lottery players Ian and Peter Collier were delighted when three of their numbers came up on Lotto, but little did they know just where those balls would lead.
Descriptor: We now see Ian and Peter sitting in a conservatory, while Ian describes how they won. As Ian speaks, we once again see video archive footage of a lottery draw.
Ian Collier: On the Wednesday we won £10, so we invested the £10 on ten lucky dips. So on the Saturday night when it was 17 whatever it was million, it was one of those ten lucky dips that came in. So it was certainly a lucky night for us.
Descriptor: We now see Ian and Peter playing pool.
Narrator: The brothers then phoned Camelot to check their numbers.
Descriptor: We once again see Peter and Ian sitting in their conservatory. As Ian speaks, we see them once again, playing pool.
Ian Collier: They said it looks like you may have won. So I said well I'm gonna go round the club, my little club and have a drink and they advised us not to say anything til we, you know, until we'd definitely sort of confirmed and there was one guy there he, he, he sort of, I sort of bumped into and he said are you gonna buy me a drink and I said, "What do you think I'm made of money?"
Descriptor: We now see a photo of Ian and Peter standing on either side of the a woman in a red dress, holding a large National Lottery cheque. We then pan down to an exterior shot of Peter and Ian's home.
Narrator: Having packed in their jobs at a local sheet metal factory, the brothers set about buying their dream home and settled on a nearby five bedroom house.
Descriptor: Once again we see Peter and Ian sitting in their conservatory. As Peter speaks, we see various shots of the interior of the house and the garden.
Peter Collier: I think why we buy this house, I think because it was local to our own house and also I grew up in this village. I suppose at the time I didn't want move and when we come round it I just loved the size, especially the garden.
Descriptor: We now see various shots of the cars that the Colliers own.
Narrator: Behind every good millionaire is a fleet of fancy cars and the Colliers are no exception.
Descriptor: Once again we see Peter and Ian sitting in their conservatory, before we see them standing in amongst their cars, describing various features and aspects of them.
Ian Collier: When we won the lottery we decided that we you know could afford one each.
Peter Collier: Car each or two.
Ian Collier: Or two actually.
Peter Collier: Well three actually.
Descriptor: We now see the view from an upstairs window in the house, which pans across Peter and Ian's garden, before we see various shots of the brothers walking around in the garden, looking at plants.
Narrator: And it's not just cars that a lottery win can buy, it also buys a £250,000 bespoke garden.
Descriptor: Once again we see Peter and Ian sitting in the conservatory. As Ian speaks, we see various photos of the garden whilst the work was being done to it, before various shots of the finished garden, including the ponds, and the Koi in them.
Ian Collier: I got in contact with an award winning landscape designers and it was just over two years in the doing of all this garden. They did report that they shifted about 150 tons of soil. We've got a stream that starts at one end and it goes all the way down to the bottom and then we've got three ponds. The large one which is 10,000 gallons, that holds nearly 30 Japanese Koi in there.
Descriptor: We now see various shots of the brothers walking through the garden, together with a shot of their hot tub.
Narrator: Their lottery win has also allowed them to indulge their friends in their new luxury lifestyle.
Descriptor: We once again see the brothers sitting in their conservatory. As Ian speaks, we see various shots of the hot tub and decking area surrounding it.
Ian Collier: The other Christmas we had 17 people here. We went out for lunch and then eight of us got in the hot tub and was there until midnight drinking champagne and beer. So Christmas night in the hot tub, lovely that was.
Peter Collier: That was nice, a good night and it was a nice evening weren't it?
Descriptor: We now see a wide shot of Peter and Ian standing next to a small garden building, looking at the garden, followed by shots of the Koi in the pond.
Narrator: Winning the lottery has enabled the Colliers to live life to the fullest.
Descriptor: For the final time we see Ian and Peter sitting in their conservatory.
Ian Collier: So if these things come along you know you've got to grab ‘em. You're only on the planet once so I'd say you know enjoy your life while you can and that's what we certainly are.
