Descriptor: First we see various exterior and interior shots of a large house and garden, before focusing in on large photos of a family hung on a wall. We then see Roger and Lara in various shots in their home with their children, before zooming in on a photo of Lara and Roger, who has a guitar held over his head, smiling and holding an oversized Lottery cheque.

Narrator: Imagine waking up one day to find you've won a share of the lottery jackpot. Pure fantasy, well not for the Griffiths family from Yorkshire. In 2005 regular National Lottery online players roger and Lara Griffiths, won a cool one point eight million pounds, and changed their lives forever.

Descriptor: We now meet Roger and Lara Griffiths, lottery winners to the tune of £1.8m, sitting at a table with their children. As Roger and Lara speak, we see shots of them playing with their children.

Roger: Played over the internet and um, Tuesday morning I sort of logged in and there was a message saying check your balance, you know, your account cos you've won, and I looked through and finally I found this number it was like one million eight hundred and thirty thousand, four hundred and ninety two pounds.

Lara: "Lara come upstairs," and you know, there I am looking at the computer screen and it's saying, congratulations you are a winner one point eight bl-l-l-l-l-l-l-lm, and I was like.

Descriptor: We now see a wide shot of the Griffith's garden and exterior and interior shots of the house that they bought with the money that they won.

Narrator: Soon after winning the lottery, roger who worked as an it manager and Lara a teacher, bought a new house.

Descriptor: Once again we see Roger and Lara sitting at the table, as they describe when they first looked at the house they now live in. As they speak, we see further interior shots of the house, including the hallway, and a fireplace.

Lara: When we walked in the first thing we saw was that huge mirror in the hallway and I looked at Roger and thought that's perfect for him, cos he just, any reflective surfaces.

Roger: My ego fitted, amazingly.

Lara: And we came in and I, I was determined to have something spacious and light wasn't I, and it is, but it's kind of cottagy at the same time. So it ticked all the boxes.

Roger: Not for me, it's way too expensive.

Descriptor: We now see the entire family in the kitchen, with a close up on each of their children.

Narrator: But there was one thing that both Lara and roger agreed was worth spending their money on.

Descriptor: We now see Lara and Roger sitting at the table with their children, drawing, discussing the importance of education.

Lara: It's really difficult to a good education for your children I think, and I always was really keen to send the children to private school but there, there is no way we would ever have been able to afford it. There what's that then. It's a faux fox.

Roger: We've both had the opportunity to have so much more time with them.

Lara: Yeah, definitely.

Roger: Ruby used to go to her grandmothers three days a week and a childminder two days a week.

Lara: But now I mean I get to spend all day with her

Roger: I say great, it means that we have to stay in all day and we have to do, do loads of art, I mean you know actually get that childminder on the phone.

Descriptor: We now see Roger singing with his band, before focusing in on a framed photo of the group.

Narrator: The lottery win meant that roger could reform his group first put together when he was at university.

Descriptor: We now see Roger sitting with a white guitar on his lap, as he talks about his band. We then see free flow camera shots of the band walking along a street, before once again going back to Roger, who plays his guitar.

Roger: I was in this band called FNB and you know didn't get a chance to release a record and we had no money and we sort of didn't really have time or direction. And then amongst it all we win this money and, and it was like game on, suddenly like right I'm going to form a record company and I'm gonna put together this single and it's going to be like you know really cool and, and um, we're finally going to get this opportunity to release it.

Descriptor: We now see car's point of view, as it drives past houses, before a low shot, which shows Roger and Lara's car pulling up at the pavement.

Narrator: But if Roger's music doesn't go platinum, the Griffiths will need to find other ways to boost their fortune.

Descriptor: We then pan down on a house, which has a sold board outside, before we meet Roger standing by the gate of the house.

Roger: We're on our way to Harrogate which is where we decided to start our property empire. This is the first one we're doing which is going to be a complete renovation from top to bottom. And hopefully the one that will run really smoothly and in ten years time, come back. I'll be in a camel hair coat probably driving a Jag. Still got long hair like obviously, you know, I'll still end up with two houses, I'll just have spent all the money.

Descriptor: We now see the exterior of salon, before going inside and seeing Lara have a facial, before once again seeing Lara and Roger in the house playing with their children.

Narrator: While Roger's making money, lira's spending it.

Lara: I've been a bit naughty with jewellery um, I've got, I've got quite a lot of pretty expensive watches and handbags I suppose. Things that I used to do like going for facials, whenever I used to maybe go once a month and I'd save up for it and then now go whenever I want and buy as many products as I want on the way out.

Roger: We've been sort of like suddenly introduced to a nicer way of living and it's, it's very comfortable and I just like it for the rest of the children to have it and so really to be honest. Living this way is, is pretty nice we, you know you worry about it, I worry about it quite a lot, but to be honest in the end we're still pretty rich you know.

Lara: I'm gonna, do you know what, play that back and I'm gonna, I'm actually gonna get that on my phone so that I can, every time you, we argue when you tell me we've got no money, I'll just go kring, and you'll say yeah actually we're pretty rich.

Roger: Still pretty rich

Lara: Remember.
