Narrator: We caught up with the tour at Claire House Children’s Hospice in the Wirral, Merseyside, which provides care to children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions.

David Pastor: People think that perhaps it must be a sad place, but actually it’s a positive, ah, vibrant place that’s full of life, and we see far more happiness than we do sadness.
Descriptor: We are now introduced to Lesa Chappell, a Care Manager at Claire House. As Lesa speaks, we see the Winner Wonderland jackpot winners enter the hospice with presents.
Lesa Chappell: I think any family that has, um, a disabled child living with them, it’s really difficult to even try and understand how complex their lives are. And if there wasn’t somewhere like Claire House, em, they often say, they don’t know what they’d do.

Damien Kelly: My daughter sadly passed away at Claire House, em, you know it needs to be here for, for children that have conditions and stuff. I would say I’m grateful for them and what, what they’ve done for my daughter and my family, eternally grateful.

Ben Woods: Ah, we’re here with the National Lottery today to, em, donate various gifts and presents for the kids and their parents. But I literally live not more than a mile away from here, ah, this is a local charity to me. They’re caring for so many children, ah, doing a fantastic job, and they just need all the help they can get.
