Rail worker Mark Benbow hit the bullseye when he took one of £1 million prizes in EuroMillions Millionaire Raffle.
Descriptor: First we see various shots of the exterior of The Vale Golf Club, before we see Mark Benbow, and his wife Lisa, speaking at the press conference. As Mark speaks, we see various shots of him with Lisa in front of the golf club, having their photos taken and holding an over-sized National Lottery cheque. There are photographers taking pictures.
Mark Benbow: I couldn’t, still can’t, still couldn’t believe it. Today it’s more, sinking in a bit more. I put the ticket on the side until, ah, Thursday and I, it was only when I seen, I seen the ticket, I thought I’d better check the Raffle, so I asked my brother to check on the, on the, on the website. And he shouted in, he said, “You’d better come here” he said. “What’s the matter?” I said. He said, um, “You’ve won a million quid.” And you know what it’s like then, you’re just checking, checking, checking. And I think, ah, today has sort of, sort of brought it on more that I’ve, I’ve won it, up until then, I still couldn’t believe it.
Descriptor: We see Lisa holding the over-sized National Lottery cheque while Mark Benbow sprays champagne from a bottle as he is having his photo taken. The image switches to Mark being interviewed in front of The Vale Golf Club building.
Mark Benbow: That was the first time I done a Tuesday, I’ve always done the Friday night one, but that was the first one I done on Tuesday, and because it was the, the guaranteed fifteen million, millionaires were going to make, I made sure it was on early enough, just in case. And as it did, my number came up.
Descriptor: We now once again see Mark Benbow, and his wife Lisa, being photographed with an oversized National Lottery cheque, before once again seeing him being interviewed in front of The Vale Golf Club building.
Mark Benbow: You get the, the chance with your numbers but people don’t realise you’ve got a good chance with the Raffle, a million pound on that as well.
Descriptor: We now see Mark and Lisa being photographed holding the over-sized National Lottery cheque with glasses of champagne in their hands. The image switches to Mark and Lisa standing together holding their champagne glasses. The image switches once again to Mark being interviewed in front of The Vale Golf Club building.
Mark Benbow: The first thing is a, is a small break, me and my wife, cos we never had a honeymoon when we got married, so that’s going to be the first thing, and probably then it’ll probably be the house, and then the jukebox. I always wanted a jukebox, so I’m having one of them as well.
Descriptor: We now see Mark with a photographer, who gives him a dartboard, before more shots of Mark being photographed. Mark and the photographers are laughing. We then see Mark being interviewed in front of The Vale Golf Club building, before further shots of him being photographed holding a dartboard and a glass of champagne.
Mark Benbow: Well you haven’t got to worry about the bills any more. You haven’t got to worry about your overdraft anymore. You haven’t got to worry about the next, what letter drops on the doormat. Is it going to be a bill, is it a letter? Just don’t have to worry about anything anymore. Obviously I, I, I’m not going to go mad with it, I just want to make it last, make sure my family and my kids and everyone’s happy, and just enjoy the rest of my life with it.
Descriptor: Finally, we zoom in to see Mark and Lisa Benbow being photographed with glasses of champagne, before we see a close up of a glass of champagne with a National Lottery logo on it.
