Hear from Dave and Angela Dawes from Cambridgeshire, who won £101 million on EuroMillions on only their third ever ticket.
Descriptor: First we see a long shot of a large country house, before cutting to a close-up of an oversized cheque. The cheque is dated 7th October 2011. The cheque is made out for one-hundred and one million, two-hundred and three thousand six-hundred pounds and seventy pence. We see a shot of a glass of champagne with the National Lottery logo on it. We then see Dave and Angela Dawes holding the oversized cheque while lit by camera flashes, and cameramen shout in the background. We now see Dave and Angela talking to an interviewer at a press conference.
Interviewer: How did you know you'd won?
Dave: Well we were, we actually watched it. Ange had the ticket and watched the numbers roll down...
Angela: And each one as it's coming out, I said, "we've got another one, oh my god we've got another one, oh my god we've got another one". By the time we get to the fourth or fifth it was just mad.
Descriptor: We now see the couple walking outside in a country garden, as photographers take pictures. We then return to the press conference.
Angela: He, he double-checked all the doors, all the windows to make sure no-one was going to break the door down, to nick the ticket. [Dave laughs.]
Descriptor: We now see many photographers pointing their cameras and taking pictures together, before returning to the press conference.
Dave: As it came through, it came, how many winners were on there, and I just looked at her and I said, "my god we're the, we're the only ones". Then it was just, em, I think several boxes of tissues later we, em, calmed her down. She tried to go to bed for all of half an hour and then came back out and was like, "I can't sleep."
Descriptor: We now see the couple holding the cheque, followed by a close-up of the name "Dave Dawes" on the cheque. The couple have their arms round each other and are smiling. We then return to the press conference.
Dave: We've only played it three times, and the first time I did it, we got no numbers, so Ange told me off and said no, it's my turn, she got no numbers, we went to the shop and I said just for a laugh, "we'll take a, a line each".
Descriptor: We now see Dave spraying a bottle of champagne in the garden, and Angela watches and laughs. We then return to the press conference.
Angela: My mum and dad live in Portugal, so we're going to buy a house over there. And we're going to get married, em, next June, and Dave's already bought me an engagement ring but now he's going to be buying a better one. [The couple and crowd laugh.]
Descriptor: We now see Dave with his arms around Angela. He is holding a football shirt in his hands. The number on the shirt is "101" and underneath, the word "Million" is written.
Dave: I'm an avid Chelsea fan so I'm, em, season ticket's on there and a house in Chelsea I think.
Descriptor: We see another shot of Dave with the football shirt, before returning to the press conference.
Dave: It's like crazy, we were saying we would help, you know obviously, families and then we were working out friends, well we've actually drawn up a bit of a list of, we've got fifteen to twenty people that we are going to, sort of, make millionaires, so... and then we're looking at helping charities.
Angela: Some of it is going to be based on children’s charities. But we're actually going to go and see and I actually want to get a bit involved and give a bit of money back and, makes you feel good when you help people out.
Descriptor: Finally, we see the couple walking towards a helicopter. Dave is wearing the football shirt. We can hear camera shutters in the background. The couple wave and enter the helicopter, which takes off.
