The Shaws of Kendal found a special present under their tree: a £1 million UK Millionaire Raffle win.
Descriptor: First we see Karen and Anthony Shaw walking towards the camera, holding an oversized National Lottery cheque between them in one hand, and National Lottery glasses of champagne in their other hands. We then see then sitting close together on a chair at the press conference.
Karen Shaw: We opened our raffle tickets and my son looked it up on his, ah, phone and he said, “I think you’d better look at this mum, it’s a winner!”
Descriptor: We now see various shots of Karen and Anthony being photographed by members of the press, as Anthony opens a bottle of champagne and sprays it out of the bottle, before once again returning to the press conference.
Karen Shaw: Ah, shock, pure shock.
Anthony Shaw: Shock.
Karen Shaw: That we’d win the Lottery, I just didn’t think it would ever happen to us.
Descriptor: We now see a various shots of Karen and Anthony Scott, both holding National Lottery glasses of champagne together, while being photographed by members of the press. Again, we return to Karen and Anthony speaking at the press conference.
Karen Shaw: We have, em, a family syndicate for every week, so, but this was just a little bit of an extra, stocking filler really, for Christmas for everybody.
Descriptor: We now see Karen and Anthony Scott holding an oversized National Lottery cheque, whilst being photographed by members of the press, before seeing them again at the press conference.
Karen Shaw: Myself and, and Tony, and both the kids, winning the Lottery is just financial security for all of us now.
Descriptor: Once again we see Karen and Anthony being photographed, holding National Lottery glasses of champagne, with the National Lottery cheque between them, before seeing them at the press conference for the final time.
Karen Shaw: I think my children are going to spend their part of it on buying a house each, and just until we’ve got the kids settled, we’ve decided we’re just going to go on an Alaskan cruise.
Descriptor: Lastly, we see a wide shot of Karen and Anthony taking shelter from the rain under trees, with the oversized National Lottery cheque over their heads. In the foreground we see an empty National Lottery champagne glass.
Woman: What do you do with a one million pound cheque?
Karen Shaw: Keep my hair dry! [She laughs.]
