Sophie Ellis-Bextor: Ah, there’s been lots of serendipity along the way. I think if you work in a silly job like mine, you kind of rely on it. Ah, so I guess everything that’s led me to still be making records, em, up to this point really, has been pretty lucky.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor: I don’t have any lucky charms because I’m so unreliable I would forget them and then I’d throw my whole world off-kilter. So to avoid the, ah, the inevitability of, of forgetting my lucky charm and, and it being awful, I just do not have any. Yeah, no, I try not to rely on anything external.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor: I don’t have proper rituals, I mean like, I like to spend quite some time on my makeup and getting ready, and then I’ll normally go and hang around in the boy’s room with my band and, ah, get annoyed by them playing "Man In The Mirror", by Michael Jackson, on a loop, which they always do before every gig. It’s really odd.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor: I think I am quite a lucky person, but then I think I’m an, I’m an optimist, and I’m someone that always looks on the bright side of things. And I think if you’re someone that tends to see the best in a situation, then you probably think of yourself as, as lucky and fortunate. And I’ve got lots of nice things in my life, so yeah, I know, I know I’m lucky.
