Tom Chambers reveals his slightly obsessive pre-stage rituals from lucky cufflinks to pineapple.
Descriptor: First we see the animated caption “Lottery HQ Presents” in blue letters on a black background which then changes into the name “Tom Chambers” and finally, the caption “Do You Have A Lucky Number?”. We then see Tom answering the question whilst sat on a sofa.
Tom Chambers: Thirteen, is my lucky number. Because it was my dad's lucky number. He had it as his school locker, uh, it was the house that he lived at was number thirteen. The house I lived at used to be thirteen. And it was also the channel I was listening to, on an aeroplane, that nearly crashed, but it didn't, so that was lucky.
Descriptor: We now see another animated caption that says “Do You Consider Yourself A Lucky Person?”. We cut back to Tom on the sofa.
Tom Chambers: Considering myself a lucky person, I think that you kind of create your own luck, they say, in the fact that if you try and commit to something and do the best you can, do, do your best and forget the rest.
Descriptor: We now see a new caption, “Do You Have Any Pre-Stage Rituals?”. Again, we cut back to Tom on the sofa.
Tom Chambers: In terms of any rituals before going on a stage, I'd say that I quite like to have everything clear on the desk. So, dressing table, um, slightly obsessive about this. Have it all clear, then a clear mind, uh, and then I'd al-always have a bit of fruit to clear the, uh, clear your throat, clear your mouth. They say that pineapple is very good for singing, so I'd have a bit of that and then I'll also wear my lucky cufflinks that my wife gave me.
