Q&A with Beverley Knight

Beverley Knight: Easily for me the luckiest thing that’s ever happened to me was, finding myself in Prince’s living room, em, playing on stage at his post-Oscars party, and then Stevie Wonder came and joined us.  That, was like, God smiled on me.

Beverley Knight: Me and the band always kind of huddle together, we have a, a shout, it’s kind of quite an American basketball team thing, all put our hands in, in the centre, and we have a shout that we do before we go on. Um, but the shout changes every single time, and depends on where we are and, ah, what kind of crazy mood we’re in. Well if we’re in Wolverhampton, for example, it might be something like, “Owwamya!!”.

Beverley Knight: I actually have a friend who has won the lottery. It completely and utterly changed her life, but not their character, I’m pleased to say.
