Meet the boys as they visit Lottery HQ for the final time and reflect on their career highlights.
Descriptor: First we see the members of Westlife. On-screen captions introduce us to "Shane", "Mark", "Nicky" and "Kian" in turn. A make-up artist is preparing them to be filmed. The images alternate between colour and black and white. We then see a graphical caption, which reads, "Westlife Backstage: What is the luckiest thing that's happened to you?" We then see members of Westlife talking to camera and each other.
Nicky: The luckiest thing I would say that ever happened to us was when...
Shane: Meeting me, Nicky! [one of the off-screen Westlife members laughs]
Nicky: ...recording with Mariah Carey and we flew in from Asia, em, on to, we got on to a private yacht where we were shipped to where she was, in this huge villa on the top of a hill, where her chef cooked up oysters and champagne. We, we had dinner and then we went and recorded the song, and Mariah Carey was going, [puts on a nasal, high voice] "I need one more right now"...
Shane [echoing Nicky’s nasal, high voice, while holding up 2 fingers]: "I need two more from Nicky!"
Nicky: ...she had a little chihuahua on her lap called Bobby or Rover or something, and it was...
Shane: [Laughing] Rover!
Nicky: It was great.
Shane: That was a great day in our life.
Nicky: Thanks Mariah!
Shane: Thanks, Mariah.
Descriptor: We again see a graphical caption on-screen, which reads, "Westlife Backstage: Do you consider yourselves lucky people?" We then see Westlife on set again, talking to the camera and each other.
Kian: My wife always says that, y'know, em, I have the luck of the Irish so, em, I don't know whether that's...
Mark: You know what, she said you have the LOOK of the Irish.
[The men talk over each other.]
Kian: I look Irish?
Nicky: Yeah, yeah you look like an Irishman.
Kian: Ah, that's what it is!
Nicky [off screen]: It’s the lobster tan you get.
Kian: It's not lucky, it's "look"!
Shane: It’s the look. [nods]
Nicky [off screen]: It’s the lobster tan he gets.
Descriptor: Once again, we see a graphical caption on-screen, which reads, "Westlife Backstage: Do you have any pre-stage rituals?" We then again see Westlife on set, talking to the camera and each other.
Kian: Nicky never changes his boxer shorts.
Nicky: Never I don't wear any more.
Kian: That's why he smells really bad, all the time.
Nicky: They actually got worn out.
Kian: Now he doesn't wear any.
[Nicky smiles and raises his eyebrows]
Descriptor: For the final time, we see a graphical caption on-screen, which reads, "Westlife Backstage: Has it sunk in yet that you are close to the end of an era?" We then return for the final time to the set, to see Westlife talking to the camera and each other.
Shane: Em, it is starting to sink in, the last few weeks. Em, y'know, the last, everything we're doing now is for the last time, like today, this is our last TV we're doing in the UK, em, so it is a bit sad, em, Nicky's singing Frank Sinatra songs all week [Nicky smiles and shakes his head], so... But it is em, the final curtain, final curtain call out next year, for the tour as well. At least we've got that to look forward to, but for the time being it's, em, quite sad.
Nicky: For the time being, we did it our way.
