Taxi driver Adam Derbi picks up his biggest fare ever—a £1 million win on EuroMillions.
Descriptor: First we see Adam and Naphtalia Derbi walking on a path through flower beds, in front of The Vale Golf Club building. We then see them being photographed holding an oversized National Lottery cheque in front of them. The cheque shows that Adam has won £1,000,005.10 on EuroMillions. We then see Adam being interviewed.
Adam Derbi: It’s such a shock, you know, as you can imagine, it, it’s a, it’s a massive amount of money. So it took a couple of days to sink in, but I’m over the moon, we’re both over the moon.
Descriptor: We now see Adam and Naphtalia Derbi being photographed once again, and while Naphtalia holds the oversized National Lottery cheque, Adam sprays champagne from a bottle. We now see shots of them at the press conference.
Adam Derbi: Initially there was obviously the shake, the shake, you know, shaking a little bit, I told Naphtalia straight away and like usual, she didn’t believe me.
Descriptor: We now see Adam and Naphtalia Derbi being photographed with the oversized National Lottery cheque, holding glasses of champagne. They laugh and share a kiss. We once again see them at the press conference.
Adam Derbi: You know, it’s just great that we’ve been given an opportunity to, er, give our, our children a solid start in life. So yeah, over the moon, absolutely over the moon.
Descriptor: We now pan across from the photographers to Adam Derbi standing on a lawn and holding the oversized National Lottery cheque over his head. Once again we see Adam being interviewed.
Adam Derbi: We’re going to take our time, you know, not make any hasty decisions, not make any mistakes, but you know, it’s been a while since we’ve had a nice treat, so we’ll think about it, and we’ll do something with the kids, I’m sure.
Descriptor: We now see shots of Adam being photographed in his taxi cab, leaning out of the window, holding the oversized National Lottery cheque, whilst hearing him being questioned at the press conference. There is a shot of Adam holding a £2 coin.
Interviewer: You must get a few tips, mustn’t you, as a cabbie?
Adam Derbi: I think I had a couple of tips on Tuesday, which I used to buy my, ah, my lucky ticket.
Interviewer: Did you? (We hear laughter.)
Descriptor: For the final time, we see Adam Derbi being interviewed. As he speaks, we see Adam and Naphtalia in the back of the cab, being photographed holding the oversized National Lottery cheque.
Adam Derbi: Everyone dreams of winning the lottery, em, and I’m lucky enough to be one of those individuals. So yeah, I’ve been playing it a long time. If anyone played it, I’d, I’d say online definitely, it’s, ah, peace of mind, you’ve confirmation where your ticket is, there’s no worrying about sleeping with the ticket under your pillow. So yeah, definitely, ah, I’d say online was the way forward to play the Lotto.
Descriptor: Lastly we see Adam and Naphtalia Derbi together, toasting each other with glasses of champagne bearing the National Lottery logo.
