Descriptor: First we see a graphic caption, which reads, “The National Lottery Presents Cox and Hound Hit The Road,” before seeing fast graphic shots of Sara Cox and Rufus Hound being introduced, with their names in on-screen captions. We then see a black and white shot of Sara and Rufus walking to a van. We can hear Alan Dedicoat speaking in a voice-over.
Alan Dedicoat: Sara Cox and Rufus Hound have been clocking up the miles, driving a campervan around the UK.
Descriptor: We now see a low shot inside the campervan, where Sara drives and Rufus is in the passenger seat.
Rufus Hound: Are we there yet?
Sara Cox: No. [There is a long pause.]
Rufus Hound: Are we there yet now?
Sara Cox: No.
Descriptor: We now see the campervan from behind, travelling on a major road. We then see Rufus and Sara on large inflatables sliding down a dry ski slope, before we see shots of an allotment scheme, and various shots of Rufus and Sara with people in UCAN shirts.
Alan Dedicoat: Their mission was to experience, first hand, the incredible difference that Good Cause projects make to people and places in your area.
Descriptor: We now see Sara Cox and Rufus Hound speaking to a spokesperson for UCAN.
UCAN spokesperson: It goes without saying, without funding, we can’t exist. [We see a member of UCAN performing a hand-clapping dance to a group including Sara and Rufus.]
Descriptor: We now see another shot of the allotment scheme.
Alan Dedicoat: And it’s all thanks to National Lottery players.
Descriptor: We now see Sara and Rufus at Grosmont Rail Station, where they see a steam engine.
Sara Cox: Wow.
Rufus Hound: Wow.
Sara: It’s really romantic and exciting.
Descriptor: We now see a sepia-coloured shot of Sara and Rufus on the station platform, miming a romantic encounter. As they move to kiss, the shot reverts to normal colour.
Rufus Hound: Ah, no, no, no. [They push each other away in mock disgust.]
Sara Cox: Shut up.
Rufus Hound: Disgusting.
Descriptor: We now see close-up shots of details of the steam train, while Sara speaks in a voice-over.
Sara Cox: It’s like a piece of living history, isn’t it, really?
Descriptor: We now see Sara and Rufus at the allotment scheme, followed by shots of Rufus snowboarding down the dry ski slope and another skier performing a jump with a spin in mid-air.
Alan Dedicoat: At each Good Cause that Sara and Rufus visited, they were assigned a special task, in which they competed against one another.
Descriptor: We now see Rufus and Sara dressed as soldiers; Rufus is in front of a line of other soldiers, and he shouts at one of them.
Rufus Hound: War face!
Soldier: Raar!
Descriptor: We now see Sara in a field with a hawk on her arm.
Sara Cox: You ready Rufus?
Rufus Hound: What do you think? [Rufus is wearing fake rabbit ears. Sara releases the hawk, which chases Rufus across a field.]
Descriptor: We now see Sara smiling and pulling the horn on the steam train. She laughs and claps her hands.
Alan Dedicoat: Our ambassadors were gracious in victory.
Rufus Hound: [On the ski slope, Rufus runs over to Sara after their race.] One to nothing! I beat you! [He jumps on her as she sits on the inflatable.]
Alan Dedicoat: And in defeat. [We see two shots of Rufus walking away from the camera; in both shots, he angrily throws something that he is holding in his hands.]
Descriptor: We now see Sara beside some parked cars. She looks confused.
Sara Cox: Rufus? [The van drives away behind her, as she chases after it.] No, where you going? No!
Descriptor: We once again see the campervan travelling on a motorway, before seeing, once again, fast shots of the various Good Cause projects visited.
Alan Dedicoat: Their journey took in a range of good causes, large and small.
Descriptor: Now we see a girl at UCAN, speaking into a microphone.
Girl: Do you mind? This is the back stage of our church hall.
Descriptor: We now see Sara and Rufus performing and dancing with the UCAN group, before applauding.
Alan Dedicoat: So well done Sara and Rufus, and well done to all National Lottery players who raise over thirty million pounds for Good Cause projects every week.
Descriptor: Lastly we see Sara Cox stood next to the steam train. She speaks to the camera.
Sara Cox: Wow, that was amazing. I’ve got to break it to my other half that I might now be a steam train enthusiast!
